Gateway Metalworks installed a galvanised ClearVu high security mesh fence along the steep mountainside boundary of the Institute for Maritime Technology in Simon's Town. The build secures a sensitive Armscor defence research site across difficult terrain, featuring reinforced concrete plinths, razor-coil topping, and a custom access gate.
The Institute for Maritime Technology supports the South African Navy with research into maritime systems, underwater warfare, and autonomous vehicles. The mountainside boundary runs along rocky, uneven terrain with steep gradients, demanding a fence that blocks intrusion, withstands ground movement, and meets defence sector standards.
Gateway Metalworks installed a galvanised ClearVu high security mesh fence along the full mountain boundary. The narrow-aperture mesh blocks climbing, cutting, and tool penetration, while razor-coil topping raises the deterrent level. A continuous reinforced concrete plinth seals the base against erosion and burrowing, with panels stepped up the slope to follow the gradient.
